Meet The Team
LMT, Reiki II, CYT 200, Health & Life Coach
Originally from Mackinaw City, I took a few years to travel to different parts of the world before returning home after living in Asheville, North Carolina, where I attended and graduated from the Center of Massage and Natural Health.
I have worked in spas, chiropractic offices, physical therapy offices, salons, all before owning my own practice. I offer a few different options to add to your sessions including Reiki and Fire Cupping. Knowing the importance stretching and movement have on the body, mind, and spirit, I completed Yoga Teacher Training in the winter of 2020. I am a certified Health and Life Coach. I am a volunteer base Doula.
I am devoted and deeply committed to my own healing and I feel grateful to be able to help others on their journey.
CYT 200, RN
Meghan is a 200 hour certified yoga teacher (working towards 500) and an RN in the U.P. You’ll mostly find her teaching powerful vinyasa style yoga with simple modifications to accommodate all levels… because she firmly believes being flexible is not a prerequisite. With every class, you can expect lots of verbal and visual cues to help with alignment and encourage confidence to deepen or soften your yoga practice.
Yoga is not a destination but a journey of lifelong learning. Always inspired by the many styles of energy healing, she often incorporates elements from kundalini, different breathing techniques, and the chakra system into every class. She believes health and fitness goals are very personal but hopes each class leaves you feeling stronger, more grounded, and heart-centered. She feels so blessed to learn just as much from her students as they do her.
Dance Fitness Instructor
I was born and raised in Mackinaw City and have lived here my entire life. I have always loved to dance and taught aerobics for several years. More recently I have been lucky enough to be a part of the Northland Players and dance on stage. My dance fitness class has energizing music and easy-to-learn dance moves for all ages and levels. It’s a fun and great way to get and stay in shape.
Step Aerobics Instructor
Keli is from the area and has been teaching Step Aerobics for over 20 years. You may see her working in the store in between teaching step. Keli believes working out is just to combat the beer she drinks on the weekends - and if you feel the same you're in good company! Keli is taking time this winter to become a certified Spin Instructor - so be on the lookout for that.
CYT 200, Reiki Master, Belly Dance Instructor
Lola Kennedy is a belly dance instructor, certified yoga instructor, and healing arts practitioner, CRMP. Her intention is to marry all of these forms of expression, body awareness, body love, and reiki with her style of belly dance, yoga, and energy healing.
Lola originally planned on becoming a musical theatre performer and while she was studying in New York City, she was massaging her friend's arm, when her friend said to her, “you have healing hands.” At that moment Lola knew she was in the wrong place and moved home where she began working at a local health food store assisting the nutritionist, gaining amazing insight on holistic wellness, and working with customers who were looking for alternative ways to supplement their lives. While she was still working at the health food store, Lola had the opportunity to take a first-degree reiki course under Anne-Marie Caicco in 2016, almost a year later she became a certified Reiki Master, and in 2018 decided to begin reiki teacher training and mentorship under her teacher, Anne-Marie Caicco. The wise and ancient energy healing modality, reiki, provides opportunities for relaxation, grounding, healing, release, and connection. Lola facilitates private reiki sessions and group energy healing for yoga classes and adds it to the classes she teaches. Lola began belly dancing in 2006 under the tutelage of Katie Campbell in Sault, Ontario where she began performing with the group, the Zaghereets. In 2014, Lola began teaching Belly Dance. Now Lola teaches belly dance in Sault, Michigan, Northern Michigan, and online. Belly dance is a beautiful, empowering, dynamic movement for all bodies and ages that intuitively flows with our bodies since it is such a spirit connecting practice. Lola began practicing yoga in 2005 and deepened her relationship with it in university under the instruction of Lee Carlson. Here she learned the styles of Anusara hatha yoga, Kripalu style yoga, and the Iyengar method. Through this academic foundational yoga training, Lola was able to integrate these yoga styles within many aspects of her life and concentrations. She received her 200-hour certification in 2018 under the instruction of Tiffany Leneu of Be The Love yoga teacher training. Lola regularly teaches through Northern Life Yoga in Sault, Michigan, and guest teaches throughout Sault, Ontario, and Northern Michigan.
No matter what class or a private session you choose to attend, Lola’s joyful, kind, intuitive, and approachable demeanor will help you feel comfortable, seen, heard, connected, and most of all relaxed.
